Can celebrity endorsements influence voting behavior and electoral outcomes? This paper examines the effect of Taylor Swift’s endorsement of Kamala Harris on the 2024 presidential election, leveraging the timing and popularity of her US Eras Tour concerts, held just weeks before the election. Using a differences-in-differences approach across Florida, Indiana, and Louisiana, we find evidence of a blue shift: counties closer to the concert venues saw a higher vote share for the Democratic candidate in 2024 compared to 2020. However, this effect fades in counties with stronger social media connections to concert-hosting areas, suggesting that online exposure helped diffuse the mobilization impact beyond physical proximity. These findings highlight the interplay between celebrity influence, and political mobilization. Our analysis further suggests that if her concerts had occurred in certain key swing states, they could have plausibly shifted the election outcome.
